How Unity Started
Unity is a cornerstone of the New Thought movement, inspiring some of the world’s most influential thinkers, including Maya Angelou, Wayne Dyer, Betty White, Florence Scovel-Shinn and Marianne Williamson (just to name a few).
Founded in the late 1800s, Unity began when Myrtle Fillmore cured herself of tuberculosis through Christian principles, Somatic Body spiritual practices and prayer. Her husband, Charles, adopted her methods, and together they created a movement that has reached millions globally.
Known for its teachings on healing, prosperity, and spiritual awakening, Unity continues to offer timeless principles that resonate across generations, encouraging individuals to live with faith, purpose, and an elevated consciousness. Its legacy of spiritual transformation remains vibrant and relevant today.

Our Sacred Sunday Gathering and Classes
Our Sunday Sacred gatherings and classes are held fortnightly, with affirmative prayer and Metaphysical Bible classes preceding each one hour inspiration. Both are available both online and in person. We appreciate your arrival five minutes early to ensure a smooth start.

RACHEL WOTTEN
Spiritual Facilitator
Rachel Wotten brings a unique and powerful presence to Unity New Zealand, uniting deep spiritual wisdom with bold, visionary leadership. A former Australian Army Sergeant, corporate high-achiever, and now an ordained Minister and spiritual healer, Rachel walks confidently between worlds—bringing the sacred into the everyday and the mystical into meaningful action.
With over 20 years of experience across military, corporate, and ministry settings, Rev. Rachel is known for her ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and spiritual power. She has served with the United Nations in conflict war zones, led global teams into transformation in top-tier tech companies, and supported many people in awakening their spiritual gifts through her Executive Coaching and Healing business.
In addition to her many business qualifications from her corporate and military career, Rachel holds a Master of Divinity through Unity Worldwide Ministries and is nearing certification as a Spiritual Director through Mount Saint Mary’s University. She weaves ancient mysticism, storytelling, metaphysics, and practical spirituality into her teachings and sessions.
Her role as a Spiritual Facilitator at Unity New Zealand is one that empowers individuals to awaken the Divine within, take inspired action in the world, and co-create a more compassionate, conscious future.
On a personal note, she is happily married, has a teenage son and lives in this beautiful country of Aotearoa.
